Chairman Li Yong Was Invited to Accompany Chinese State Councilor Wang Yong to Attend the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Seoul Conference and Deliver a Speech at the Conference.

The BFA Seoul Conference, themed "An Open and Innovative Asia", was held in Seoul, the Republic of Korea on November 20. Chairman Li Yong attended the conference as a guest of honor and delivered a speech at it. Wang Yong, Chinese State Councilor, Lee Nak-yon, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and incumbent Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BFA, Cho Myoung-gon, Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea, Meng Yang, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council of China, Li Baodong, Secretary-General of the BFA, and other senior officials from China and the Republic of Korea attended the conference and delivered speeches.

In his keynote speech, Wang Yong, Chinese State Councilor, pointed out that at a critical moment when economic globalization is facing challenges and the international order is under strain, Asian countries should join hands to be defenders of the international order and norms, guardians of multilateralism and free trade, and leaders of global development and regional growth, to create new miracles for Asia's development and make new contributions to world prosperity.

In his keynote speech, Lee Nak-yon, Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, stated that Asia's economy is currently facing a situation where challenges and potentials coexist. We must uphold the five spirits of innovation, openness, inclusiveness, cooperation and peace, and strive to overcome challenges and fully tap into its potential. Faced with the trends of trade protectionism and putting national interests first, Asian countries need to adhere to openness and jointly seek countermeasures.

Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and incumbent Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BFA, stated that the world, including Asia, is currently facing multiple uncertainties and crises such as trends of deglobalization, trade protectionism and isolationism. Asia should further strengthen cooperation and consultation, uphold the values of globalization, free trade and multilateralism, promote sustainable economic development, and become a driving force for global growth.

Li Baodong, Secretary-General of the BFA, pointed out that since its establishment 18 years ago, the BFA has been rooted in Asia and oriented toward the world, playing an important role in building consensus in Asia, promoting Asian cooperation and enhancing Asia's influence. The holding of the BFA conference in Seoul has built an important platform for promoting government and business dialogue and economic and trade exchanges in this region.

This conference marked the first time the BFA has held a meeting in the Republic of Korea, with over 800 government officials and business representatives in attendance. Discussions were held on topics such as the world economy and regional cooperation, scientific and technological innovation and inclusive growth.

During the conference, Chairman Li Yong also had cordial talks and posed for group photos with senior officials from China and the Republic of Korea in attendance, including Wang Yong, Chinese State Councilor, Ban Ki-moon, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and incumbent Chairman of the Board of Governors of the BFA, Cho Myoung-gon, Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea, Yun Byung-se, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Meng Yang, Deputy Secretary-General of the State Council of China, Li Baodong, Secretary-General of the BFA, Qiu Guohong, Chinese Ambassador to the Republic of Korea, and Lee Hee-bum, Chairman of the Pyeong Chang Winter Olympic Games
